Diplomacy, Debate, and Decision Making: Inside SP Jain’s MUN 2025

On 15th February, the SP Jain Model United Nations 2025 brought together young minds for a two-day simulation of global diplomacy. With a focus on teamwork, problem solving, and leadership, delegates from diverse backgrounds served as international representatives, debating key global issues, negotiating solutions, and outlining resolutions to address some of today’s most pressing challenges.

The 2025 conference featured two key committees:

  • United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)

Delegates engaged with global issues, proposing solutions that reflected real world policymaking. The International Press (IP) played a crucial role in maintaining accountability, asking tough questions, and ensuring open dialogue throughout the event.

A standout moment of the event was the crisis simulation, which took delegates by surprise as an unforeseen challenge disrupted the UNHRC proceedings. The sudden turn of events tested their ability to adapt, think on their feet, and take control of an unpredictable situation.

To regain stability, delegates had to make quick yet strategic decisions, engaging in high-pressure negotiations to resolve the crisis. Their skill to remain composed, collaborate effectively, and apply diplomatic skills under pressure highlighted their leadership and problem solving capabilities.

With the event coming to an end, both committees finalised their resolutions, demonstrating the impact of structured debate and cooperative efforts in shaping global policies

Awards were then presented by Aniket Patankar, First Secretary at the Indian High Commission in Singapore.

This event was an inspiring platform for all the young leaders to refine their diplomatic skills, engage in meaningful debates, and gain a deeper appreciation of global affairs.
